SCOTUSblog's special feature posts on the Prop 8 appeal are really compelling and well-written. The first post does a fabulous job of discussing the key players and events that led to this pivotal moment in the struggle for same-sex marriage. Entitled "no one owns the movement," the first post talks about how the Olson and Boies lawsuit at first stunned some segments of the LGBT legal community who were advocating a much slower, state-by-state strategy. A year later, the initial opposition to the federal lawsuit seems much more muted. In fact, Jennifer Pizer, Senior Counself at Lambda Legal was quoted as saying, "No one ever owns the movement. We constantly deal with the reality that a lot of people in this movement have different ideas about what the goals and strategies should be, and that’s healthy.”
