ZiefBrief has posted about some helpful collections and analyses of Merrick Garland's D.C. Circuit opinions, but sometimes you just need to see everything.
If you have access to Lexis or Westlaw, you don't need to rely on anyone else's work. You can do your own comprehensive searches for each and every one of Judge Garland's.
On Lexis, pick this source: District of Columbia Circuit - US Court of Appeals Cases. For searches try:
- opinionby(garland) [for any opinion by Judge Garland]
- concurby(garland) [for concurring opinions]
- dissentby(garland) [for dissenting opinions]
On Westlaw, pick this source: D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Cases. For searches, try:
- adv: judge(garland)
[for majority opinions in the Court of Appeals]
- adv:con(garland +s concur!)
[for concurring opinions]
- adv:dis(garland +s dissent!)
[for dissenting opinions]
If you find the results of the Lexis and Westlaw searches overwhelming (and for lead opinions, you'll get over 300 results), add other search terms to retrieve cases dealing with specific facts or issues.
